The Mokelumne River appellation is tucked into southern Lodi in California's Central Valley. The region is home to nearly half of all winegrowing acreage in Lodi, most of which is Zinfandel. Broadly, Lodi is considered to be a hot Mediterranean climate, but the Mokelumne River appellation is actually the coolest during the growing season of all sub-appellations.
